Welcome to CrossFit New Windsor. We are located at 214 MacArthur Ave in the Town of New Windsor. CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program designed to increase your performance in sports, fitness, and life. I have found through my experience that most people severely do not understand what CrossFit is. Allow us to explain it to you as we define fitness. (Click this link)
There are a few things you need to know before you get started with us. First, every single person from age 3 to anyone with a heart beat can do CrossFit. The program is infinitely scalable, modifiable, progressive, and adaptive to EVERYBODY. We will explain more about this on the next page. CrossFit New Windsor is NOT a boot camp. It is a functional fitness program that develops 10 specific skills including accuracy, agility, balance, coordination, endurance, flexibility, speed, stamina, strength, and power. Our gym is called a "Box". It is primitive. It is a warehouse with 4 walls, a roof, large garage doors and no air conditioning. We have a few fans but when it's hot it is hot, we have heat for the winter. There are no mirrors, no treadmills, no ellipticals, no machines. You do the work. You will run, row, jump, climb, lift, push, pull, throw, squat, press all different objects for all different amounts of sets, reps, and time. We laugh, sweat profusely, yell, curse, and cheer. We are a team and a fitness community. If you decide that our program is for you then congratulations you are part of the family. We will introduce you to the rest of the community and show you how our support system works. Getting to know new people in a strange place is always difficult but as soon as you are comfortable we expect you to be cheering, clapping, yelling, and jumping up and down with everyone else. Dedication and consistency is the only way this works. If your only going to show up once in a while or go eat at McDonalds everyday you are going to be wasting your money and you will not see results. CrossFit is not a quick fix or a magic pill to losing weight or getting into shape. This is for real, hard work, do it or get out, sweat, laugh, cry, get up and do it again stuff. Don't come here with a bad attitude, negativity, complaining, or excuses. We got you covered in the fitness and support department, you have to do the rest.
This one is for the ladies. YOU...WILL...NOT...GET...BULKY...FROM... DOING...CROSSFIT! Unless you eat a few thousand calories a day or take steroids, YOU WILL NOT GET BULKY FROM CROSSFIT! Weighing a few pounds more isn't always a bad thing (see the picture below). You will not look like a man or any other ridiculous thing that women have been told. Don't come here and shake your arm flab at us and tell us that you, "just want to tone". What you are actually defining is an increase in muscle and loss of body fat. The two are completely separate. 1 pound of fat and 1 pound of muscle are the same, body fat just takes up more space than muscle. Body fat does not turn into muscle. Muscles increase in size very slowly and body fat dissipates in the form of energy giving you the lean athletic look. We can't make any of that happen unless your prepared to make some sacrifices in terms of serious nutrition, some discomfort, and patience. Some people see results in a few weeks and some in a few months. Every person is different. We are not trying to scare you, we just want you to realize what it takes. If your not ready for us to teach you how to do this I'm sure there is a body pump class somewhere out there for you. Read this: "The Fear of Bulkiness".
